For the School of Religious program to operate at its potential, volunteers are necessary in many different areas. We offer several ways in which YOU can be active. Please consider carefully the following opportunities to assist your Religious Education program.

Homeschooling Coordinator

Work with home-schooling families in coordinating their home instructions and testing. You would work directly with the Director of Religious Education on the progress of these families.

Teacher

Responsible weekly for a classroom presentation with the support of a teacher’s manual, monthly faculty meetings, and lesson outlines. Periodicals, project and visual aide materials are available for each class. Teacher in-service and assistance are available on a regular basis.

Classroom Assistant

Be present in the classroom every week to help the teacher by distributing materials, hearing prayers, helping with art projects, etc. Due to the size of the classes, classroom assistants are very important to the program.

Substitute Teacher

Present a class when the regular teacher is unable to attend. Lesson plans and teacher’s manuals will guide you. We will call you in advance.

Prayer Teacher

Be present during classes to work with students on various prayers required for them to know for their class.

Clerical Help

Be available to assist in various office needs such as mass mailings, filing, special event preparation, and other needs as they arise.

Office Assistant

Be present in the religion office, during class, for admitting visitors into the building and handling any the intercom system during this time.

GALA coordinator

Responsible for coordinating the development of three personalized basket from the RE students.

Music

Give assistance to the classes by playing an instrument, singing, etc. for special services. We will call you in advance.

Special Projects

Throughout the year, we could use your help with various class related activities. We will call you in advance.

  • Preparing Banner Material (cut/sew) for First Communion
  • Preparing Banner Material (cut/sew) for Confirmation
  • Bake goods for special activities and classroom parties.
  • Assisting with Special Activities in the Classroom
  • Miscellaneous Activities as they come up
