Dear Parents:
As many of you have heard by now, last night a man fleeing police crashed a police cruiser into a van parked outside the main library downtown. That van contained members of the Rains family. Two of the children in the van – Eleanor McBride and Penelope Jasko were killed. The others were hospitalized with various injuries – none life-threatening. Eleanor and Penelope have been students here at St Peter in Kindergarten and they were members of a Pre-SAY soccer team coached by Richard Day. This is a sad time for the whole St Peter family. Please keep the Rains, McBrides. Jaskos and all their family in your prayers. It’s times like these that we trust in the love and mercy of our good and wonderful God. May they be cradled in the arms of Jesus and be happy with him forever in heaven.
