St. Peter Early Childhood Center has been awarded five stars by the Ohio Department of Education’s “Step Up to Quality” (SUTQ) rating system for its commitment to quality child care and education.
Step Up to Quality programs go beyond state licensing requirements to better serve the needs of young children and their families and to prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
Ratings are based on numerous criteria such as; learning and development including a researched based curriculum aligned with the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards and developmental screenings/assessments of students, staff qualifications, professional development, and family/community partnerships.
Our onsite Education Program Specialist with ODE is proud of our staff’s commitment to the students. She states, “Your teachers are the bomb. Their amount of engagement with the students is a tribute to their dedication to your program.”
Program director, Teri VanMeter says, “Our teachers create a learning environment that enables children to reach their full potential and develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. With 90 percent of brain development occurring before age 5, a quality preschool program matters. We are very proud to provide our families with a program that has been recognized at the state level.”
